چکیده
Abstract Background Recently, the European Society of Cardiology issued new algorithms to estimate 10-year risk atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), along with age-specific thresholds classify individuals as low-to-moderate, high, or very-high risk. The aim this study was compare latest SCORE-2 model older SCORE (Systematic COronary Risk Evaluation) in their ability identify high coronary artery calcium score (CACS), and assess relationship between potential eligibility for statin therapy CACS. Methods Individuals 40–69 years old without diabetes known ASCVD were identified a single center registry patients undergoing CACS CT angiography suspected disease. calculated used each patient's untreated LDL-C values therapy. High defined an Agatston ≥100. Results A total 389 pts (46% men, mean age 58±8 years) included, which 15% (n=60) active smokers. systolic blood pressure 136±17 mmHg 155±65 mg/dL, respectively. proportion classified low-to-moderate risk, very 93%, 6% 1% using algorithm, 42%, 44%, 14% SCORE-2, Overall, 218 (56%) would have category revised upwards, while no be downgraded. median 5 (IQR 0–71 AU), 166 (43%) having = 0, 81 (21%) presenting showed similar discriminative power ≥100 (C-statistic 0.77, 95% CI 0.71–0.82, vs. 0.75, 0.69–0.80, P=0.109 comparison]. up-reclassification conveyed by affected across all categories (Fig. 1). whom generally indicated higher criteria algorithm (61% 29%, respectively, p<0.001). broadening indication spanned CACS, including 0 2). Conclusion Even though is SCORE, introduction results roughly half patients. application will broaden overall, not only burden, but also those 0. Coronary artery calcium (CAC) score – a prognostic tool in coronary artery disease?
Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of measurement of coronary artery calcification score (CAC) in patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD) and a normal myocardial perfusion scan. Methods: In a prospective study we measured the calcium score of 74 patients (29 m, 45 f, mean age 58.7 (m) and 64.4 (f)) with suspicion of CAD and a normal perfusion scan. In ...
متن کاملCoronary artery calcium score combined with Framingham score for risk prediction in asymptomatic individuals.
CONTEXT Guidelines advise that all adults undergo coronary heart disease (CHD) risk assessment to guide preventive treatment intensity. Although the Framingham Risk Score (FRS) is often recommended for this, it has been suggested that risk assessment may be improved by additional tests such as coronary artery calcium scoring (CACS). OBJECTIVES To determine whether CACS assessment combined wit...
متن کاملAssociations of the Dietary Diversity Score and Food Variety Score with Serum Magnesium and Ferritin Status
Introduction: Dietary diversity score (DDS) and Food variety score (FVS) are the appropriate measures used to evaluate the overall quality of dietary patterns. However, their associations with the serum levels of micronutrients remain unclear. The present study aimed to investigate the correlations between DDS/FVS and serum ferritin and magnesium status in the non-athlete femal...
متن کاملCoronary Artery Calcium Score: A Review
CONTEXT Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the foremost cause of death in many countries and hence, its early diagnosis is usually concerned as a major healthcare priority. Coronary artery calcium scoring (CACS) using either electron beam computed tomography (EBCT) or multislice computed tomography (MSCT) has been applied for more than 20 years to provide an early CAD diagnosis in clinical routin...
